October 2020 - Meeting

Here are some general photos during our October meeting. (Why do I look like a baseball player?)

Even though we have a lot of distance between us...we all enjoyed the presentations and especially the Show'n'tell!

Judy (who must sew in her sleep, she gets so much done) had two beautiful quilts finished. This first one was a Judy Beyer medallion which she added stars to so that it was enlarged into a full quilt. Just gorgeous!

This fun quilt has cute little bunnies throughout!

This comfort quilt was made/donated by Carolyn Parris. Isn't it striking in that black/white design? Loving it!
Here's that baseball player again! These photos are of a scrappy stack/whack style quilt tutorial that our new Vice President, Sharon Emann presented a tutorial on. This first quilt was my attempt (Kathy Shaw).

This quilt was made (and modeled) by Sharon Emann...from antique flour sack materials. It was just amazing to view; and that pop of yellow really made it sing! Well done Sharon!!!

Judy is beginning her tutorial on how to construct the thread catcher; which we made (hand sewn) after the meeting. Thanks so much Judy for being so prepared...with design boards and kits! Your efforts are so appreciated (and double thanks for the matching thread in the kits...which hid my awful huge hand-sewing stitches). ;)

September Show'n'Tell Beauties

We really played "catch up" this month with Show'n'Tell items. Beautiful projects! Well done ladies!

BTW, you may notice that some folks did and did not have masks on. The speakers took their masks off so attendees could hear them but were more than the 6ft social distancing amount of space when speaking. Family members (or close friends) who normally live/visit each other without masks might have also taken them off when sharing tables...but distanced from the rest of the group.

We prefer all member to keep their masks on at all times...unless presenting instructions and then should step back well away from the group when speaking.
